Easter’s over and most of us will have eaten too much chocolate. Summer is nipping at our heels and it’s time to look towards our health and fitness. It doesn’t matter if you want to lose weight, tone up, build muscle or just generally improve your health. All of these blogs will prove inspirational in some way.

Lydia Elise Millen

Lydia

Lydia’s blog started out as a fantastic fashion blog but she’s slowly moved over to the more fitness-related topics. She found a love for this healthy lifestyle and now she’s sharing it with us through gorgeous photography (those abs!), recipes, gym wear and advice. I love seeing this kind of transformation in a person and a blog that I’ve followed for so long. www.lydiaelisemillen.com

Nerd Fitness

"Adventure. Excitement. A Jedi craves not these things."
This is a fitness site created for nerds. Each blog post will have something we can relate to, whether it’s the Star Wars workout, or what you can learn from Ghostbusters. This blog is a big advocate of lifting heavy (yes, you too ladies), the paleo diet and living a happy and healthy lifestyle. It’s fantastic, I promise. www.nerdfitness.com/blog

 Lipstick Lettuce Lycra

Gemma

This blog is run by the lovely lady who also runs Retro Chick, a blog we mentioned in a recent vintage round up. What I love about this blog is how real it is. There’s plenty of motivational stuff and lots of advice but the best bits are Gemma’s successes. She’s determined, positive and actually writes about things we all care about. www.lipsticklettucelycra.co.uk

Mark’s Daily Apple

This is another blog that focuses on the primal/paleo lifestyle. This way of eating is based on how cavemen used to eat all those years ago. This means lots of meat and vegetables but no (or very few) grains or pulses. It’s all about going back to how our bodies evolved to eat. As a result you drop fat, can build muscle, have more energy and can do more (if those are your goals, of course). Take a look at the site for recipes, information on the primal lifestyle and lots of fitness tips. www.marksdailyapple.com

Fit Bottomed Girls

This blog has a very positive outlook on fitness that’s mostly aimed at women (although that’s not to say that guys won’t benefit). It’s the kind of blog that will help you to get where you want to be. This is probably the blog for you if you’re quite new to the fitness world. It’s light and fluffy and will ease you in but it’s accurate and informative at the same time. www.fitbottomedgirls.com
